The 3rd annual scholarship award of IAUW-Tel Aviv

Posted on Updated on

The Israeli Association of University Women (IAUW) under President Adv. Yemima Peretz Gabay holds a women scholarship award event twice a year: in Jerusalem for students studying for their doctorate and in Tel Aviv area for girls studying for their first degree.

The branch association in Tel Aviv chaired by Adv. Shiri Malka has managed to have members, volunteers ready in different ways to help women, including girls who had been removed from their homes by court order. These girls remain in the institutions until age of 18 .

This year, Vice President and CER Ora Sharon informed us that 19 girls received scholarships in total of NIS 6,000. President Dr Anne Negre sent a video greeting message from University Women of Europe. Greetings were extended by Deputy Mayor of Hod Hasharon and School directors.

Chair of the evening, Shiri Malka congratulated the scholarship recipients, she praised the volunteers for their untiring effort “it is easy to talk about helping these girls but our volunteers give all their heart and the work becomes integral part of their lives and they feel it is a privilege. Our aim is to give these young women the message that we are here for them to help and guide them whenever they need us. Hopefully we will increase the circle of volunteers.”
